Controller - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 115k/year - Somerset, PA
- Our client, who fosters a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence, is seeking a Controller to join their team.
- The Controller will oversee financial operations at the plant level, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while collaborating with plant management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost reduction opportunities, and enhance profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely and accurate recognition of all general ledger transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze variances against budget and forecast to provide actionable insights.
- Work on special financial analysis and projects as needed to support company objectives.
- Manage the annual budgeting process and oversee interim forecasting efforts to align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with local and executive leadership to develop and refine financial strategies.
- Oversee all month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Serve as a key financial advisor by communicating regularly with the local General Manager, Corporate Controller, and CFO.
- Provide financial guidance to local management to support strategic decision-making.
- Protect company assets by enforcing internal controls and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with audit, insurance, and tax partners to maintain compliance and optimize financial processes.
- Lead and develop the financial team by coaching, counseling, and appraising employee performance.
- Plan and monitor staff workload to achieve department objectives effectively.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Take on special projects and analysis to support evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience
- Strong communication skills to discuss financial performance and justify recommendations.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Extensive ERP knowledge with transaction tracing ability.
