Job Summary:

Reporting to the COO, the Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the company and provide strategic guidance to support the company’s growth and operational excellence. In addition, the ideal candidate will provide managerial oversight to the Accounting Manager, IT Manager, and the teams reporting to those positions.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

Manage all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts payable/receivable,

general ledger and payroll;

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, in accordance with GAAP;

Develop budgets, forecasts and financial analyses to support executive decision-making.

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

Organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance;

Develop a reliable cash-flow projection process and financial reporting mechanisms;

Manage external relationships with bankers, CPAs, vendors, auditors, etc.;

Conduct cost analysis and profitability reviews, focusing on product lines and operations;

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase margins;

Provide insights for the executive team, to drive growth and operational strategies.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations, including sales tax and

property tax filings;

Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard company assets;

Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals for annual audits and filings.

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead and mentor teams of managers and reporting personnel within Accounting, IT,

and Office / Administrative Services departments;

Foster a collaborative and high-performing finance department culture.

Provide training and development to ensure employees stay current on industry best

practices.

IT and ERP System and Process Optimization:

Oversee the organization’s IT and the Infor XA ERP systems, to ensure accurate data management and reporting;

Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in senior leadership accounting roles, preferably within the manufacturing sector;

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline;

MBA, CPA, CMA certification, preferred;

Cost accounting experience, highly desired;

Proficiency in ERP systems, IT technology and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with the Infor XA ERP system, a plus;

Experience with Paylocity, a plus;

Strong knowledge of GAAP and California-specific tax regulations;

Familiarity with Lean principles, a plus;

Astute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Exceptional organizational, analytical, time management, problem-solving, multi-tasking and attention to detail skills.

Working Hours:

7:00AM – 3:30PM, Monday – Friday

Compensation:

$145,000 - $185,000 DOE, annual base salary for this full-time, exempt position.
