    Job Title: Controller Location: Monmouth Cards (Neptune, NJ – In-Office Role)

    About Monmouth Cards:

    Monmouth Cards is a growing leader in the sports trading card industry, specializing in retail, e-commerce, and live sales. We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency as we continue to expand. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory costing, and payroll.

    Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide insights into business performance.

    Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and budget reports to guide strategic decision-making.

    Inventory & Cost Management: Oversee inventory accounting, ensure accurate costing, and reconcile inventory across retail and e-commerce operations.

    Compliance & Tax Preparation: Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations, sales tax reporting, and liaise with external accountants for tax filings.

    Process Improvement: Implement best practices for financial controls, accounting procedures, and operational efficiencies.

    Collaboration: Work closely with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic growth initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).

    5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a controller role.

    Experience in retail, e-commerce, or inventory-based businesses is a plus.

    Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.

    Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial management software.

    Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Strong leadership and communication abilities.
