    Job Summary

    We are seeking an accomplished Controller to join our growing team at Peakopia Produce. This pivotal role is essential to our financial success, requiring an experienced professional who will oversee our company’s financial health, enforce accounting policies, and optimize financial processes. The Controller will drive compliance with all regulations, mitigate risks, and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining operational excellence.

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to accuracy. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, contributing to the long-term success and growth of the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Policy Management: Develop, implement, and continuously update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.

    Vendor and Supplier Relations: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to validate invoices, streamline payment processes, and maintain accurate records of transactions.

    Financial Analysis: Monitor budgets, analyze costs, and evaluate profitability to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

    Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial health and operational efficiency.

    Risk Assessment: Design and implement risk management strategies, ensuring the company is protected against financial and operational uncertainties.

    Industry Expertise: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform financial strategies.

    Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial performance reports to executive leadership, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    Certifications: CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.

    Experience:

    Demonstrated success as a Controller or in a senior financial leadership role.

    Experience in the wholesale, distribution, or produce industry is a plus.

    Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel.

    Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.

    Competencies:

    Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.

    Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities.
