Controller | Plant Controller

Our manufacturing client located in Orange County is seeking a progressive Controller to join their team. 

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Financial accountability for two separate manufacturing facilities located on the same site
• Perform forecasts, profit and COGS analysis, cost management, inventory control, capital investment requests, working capital, and all financial reporting requirements.
• Function as an integral part of the facility leadership team and business partner to Operations Leadership Team.
• Develop appropriate accounting, analysis and reporting formats, procedures/policies, and schedules to support the reporting and analysis process.
• Participate in company initiatives and serve as the key source for improvements and waste elimination in facility administrative functions.
• Prepare and present narratives, graphs, and other reports as required to support business reviews management and customer presentations.
• Identifying key levers to drive business improvement and providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities.
• Co-ordination of the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews.
• Determine, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability.
• Complying with the company and business unit financial reporting requirements and ensuring completion of the company's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls.
• Strong organizational/analytical and decision-making skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/high intensity environment.
• Ability to dig for details and work on challenging projects.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-finance personnel.

Qualifications/Criteria: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related fields. MBA and/or CPA a plus
• 10+ years related financial/controller leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Plant/Site Controller experience for a manufacturing facility
• Functioned as a senior manager, reporting to the business unit head and at least 2 year’s supervisory experience with the ability to manage and develop staff 
• Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, with solid analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Advanced Excel, experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems, project management, multi-tasking, and developing/executing data queries.
