    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of our financial operations, including accounting, inventory, cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting. This role requires a hands-on approach, as you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing reports, and managing the day-to-day financial processes. You will work closely with our team at our New Jersey headquarters, contributing to the strategic financial planning and long-term success of The Beard Club.

    This is an on-site role that requires a proactive, adaptable individual with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform full monthly close of the company books in accordance with US GAAP standards.
    • Prepare reports and analyses, including profitability by customer / channel / product line.
    • Prepare and run weekly 13 weeks cash flow forecast
    • Manage all AR, AP, and bookkeeping activities
    • Manage, analyze and dispute when needed trade deductions across multiple retailers
    • Prepare budget and forecast
    • Manage sales tax filings
    • Work with external CPA on preparing the information for the year-end tax return filing; manage the process and all communications.
    • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, team and organizational budgets, and actual expenditures
    • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
    • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to US GAAP standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
    • Establish (in coordination with executives) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
    • Lead the implementation of NetSuite; manage the third party implementation consultant.

    What We're Looking For

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably within CPG
    • Strong Understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
    • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
    • Exemplary history of financial project management
    • Strong knowledge of Netsuite and QBO
    • Experience with inventory management and cash flow forecasting.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with a flexible, can-do attitude.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
    • Ability to adapt and handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

    Are you Qualified?

    • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
    • MBA or Master's in accounting is a plus
    • Previous experience working in a small, high growth company
