Job Summary:
Direct and oversee the corporation's accounting activities, prepare current financial reports and summaries, and create annual budgets and monitor performance against the budget.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversee Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
· Work with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, and governmental agency reports.
· Assist in preparation of tax returns.
· Responsible for monthly accounting period closing and monthly financial statements.
· Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
· Compare revenues and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future forecasts and budgets.
· Review the planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
· Analyze operations to identify areas needing reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
· Work with the Chief Financial Officer and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent management and supervisory skills.
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
· Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
· Thorough knowledge of Quickbooks Enterprise system
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience:
· Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
· Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
· Eight to ten years of experience in accounting and financial management is required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
