Controls Commissioning Engineer - TFA
The Controls Commissioning Engineer is responsible to support the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for gas and steam turbines while under the direction of the site Commissioning Manager. This role is heavily software based. The responsibilities include overseeing control system installation, Loop testing, logic and graphic creation/ modification, calibration and testing of the digital control system package required for FAT test, combustion tuning support, start-up including hot commissioning testing. This is an experienced-level position.
Follow site safety requirements at all times.
• Executes the daily assigned tasks to commission the control system and related hardware.
• Ability to read and understand machine P&ID’s and function diagrams as related to gas or steam turbines.
• Strong electrical and electronic knowledge.
• Strong instrumentation and control system knowledge.
• Completes documentation, test certificates and drawings for site turnover.
• Oversee the installation and testing of assigned systems.
• Performs inspection of systems and reports findings to site lead.
• Reports non-conformance issues to senior engineer.
• Complete required skills training log under the direction of the lead or senior engineer.
• Daily report log of activities.
Actively participates in company sponsored training programs both classroom and, on the job, as directed by their manager.
• Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels.
• Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.
• Must be willing to travel up to 90% of the year to remote work sites, both domestically and internationally. Extended periods in Canada, Mexico and South America are possible.
• Possess a valid and up to date driver’s license and passport at all times.
• Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
• Perform other such duties as may be required.
