    Controls Engineer

    Fridley, MN | Direct Hire | $100k - $120k

     

    The Controls Engineer is responsible for leading the entire product lifecycle and focusing on the design, customization, and troubleshooting of power delivery systems to meet customer needs. This includes producing schematics, selecting machine control hardware, creating design verifications, and ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the full product lifecycle of the power delivery system, including conceptualization, prototype development, testing, and finalizing designs.
    • Select and specify all relevant electrical components, including 3 phase contactors and induction motors, motor controls, circuit breakers, and custom transformers.
    • Design, develop, and test power control systems for industrial environments, particularly low-voltage (<600VAC) systems.
    • Produces schematics, panel layouts, wire lists, bill of materials, and procedures to support operations.
    • Select and specify all machine control hardware, including programmable logic controllers, related modules, and interconnected I/O devices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related positions.
    • Proficient in the use of electrical system design software (ePLAN) or other computer-aided design software applications.
    • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards (one or more of: NFPA 79, NFPA 70, IEC 60204, SEMI S22, UL508)
