    Job Title: Controls Engineer (Contract 2 Hire)
    Location: Stead, NV
    Department: Engineering
    Reports To: Controls Engineering and Maintenance Manager

    Position Summary:
    We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team on a temporary basis. Under the direction of the Controls Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of electrical and electro-mechanical control systems, equipment, and machinery. This position requires independent judgment and relies on instructions, experience, and pre-established guidelines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and PC-based electrical and electromechanical control systems, equipment, and machinery
    • Design, develop, implement, and modify PLC-based hardware and software
    • Provide technical support for PLC hardware and software, coordinating as needed
    • Troubleshoot extruders, materials systems, facility power distribution systems, and other electrical or electro-mechanical systems
    • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and other industrial systems
    • Provide training to departmental technicians as required
    • Be available for “on-call” support as needed
    • Prepare purchase orders for parts and supplies
    • Perform tasks in a safe manner and adhere to all safety policies and best practices
    • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (6S)
    • Follow clean-up and housekeeping procedures (6S) for the production floor, shipping & receiving office, and warehouse
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering
    • 3-5 years of experience in the Controls Engineering field
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, best practices, and procedures within the Controls Engineering field
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently, with heavier weights required at times
    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands/fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls in an office/production environment
    • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

    Pay:
    Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually
    This is a salary position, and the Controls Engineer will be on-call as needed.
