    Controls Engineer/Robotic Programmer

    1. Qualifications Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in a controls-related engineering field (Electrical Engineering/Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotic Studies, or other similar fields of study) or equivalent on the job experience.

    Experience:

    5 years of controls engineering experience in custom automation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Proficiency with electrical CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical preferred)

    Knowledge of electrical system regulations including NEC, CE, UL, and other

    Proficiency with PLC & HMI programming (Allen Bradley preferred)

    Familiar with a high-level programming language (e.g. VB, Python)

    Proficiency with motion control devices (e.g. VFD’s, Servos)

    Familiar with industrial robots (Fanuc preferred)

    Familiar with industrial vision systems (Cognex/Keyence preferred)

    Familiar with basic ethernet networking

    Proficiency with MS Office.

    Excellent troubleshooting skills

    Ability to multi-task, requiring strong organizational skills

    Ability to be flexible, and work with others in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Skills:

    Proficiency in ABB and RobotStudio, TM Flow, Omron Mobile Planner, and Sysmac Studio.

    Proficiency in palletizing applications and Fanuc PalletPro.

    Familiarity with Safety Assessment for collaborative robots

    Experience with Robot simulation packages as well as offline programming.

    Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, HTML, ROS

    Experience with systems that employ applications such as iRPickTool, and iRVision.

    PLC/HMI Rockwell/Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi programming knowledge.

    G-Code programming knowledge.

    1. Role & Responsibilities Capable of understanding and concepting the electrical and or controls design and programming of a large, custom automated assembly machine project from concept to acceptance. Has some decision-making responsibility for issues related concept, design, programming, debug and IQ, OQ, PQ of the machine.

    Provide robotic programming and other professional, technical expertise necessary to support quality integration, assistance/start-up, and customer training associated with the company’s designed system on time and on budget as well as ensure meeting traditional customer service expectations of customers of induction products. To be a critical part of a project (on-site and off-site); with the ability to make technical decisions, discretionary and independent judgment decisions at any time necessary while maintaining all communication with the project manager.

    Responsible for reviewing the concept, budget, and schedule to determine feasibility, then stays within the project milestone requirements.

    Exempt position

    Typical office hours - with some flexibility.

    Nine (9) Paid holidays.

    Three (3) Weeks PTO.

    Ability to occasionally travel to vendor or customer facilities both foreign & domestic.

    Estimated travel: 10-20%
