Wright Technical Services is looking for a Controls Manager to assist a prominent integration client in the greater Detroit area with their Automated Guided Vehicle group. This role involves overseeing AGV Systems and Automation engineering teams, with an emphasis on managing budgets, schedules, and manpower in alignment with project master plans.

Responsibilities:

\- Anticipate manpower needs and work alongside resource managers for staffing, including employee sharing and contract resources.

\- Collaborate with the service department to allocate resources for plant operations.

\- Offer training and support to incoming employees.

\- Uphold and enhance ISO Controls Procedures, while continuously monitoring and improving quality and efficiency.

\- Establish objectives and assess performance for direct reports.

\- Discuss project scope with program and account managers at project kick-offs.

\- Evaluate project kick-offs to ensure budget and scope clarity.

\- Ensure compliance of engineering outputs with controls ISO processes.

\- Track project budgets and timelines, utilizing metrics to enhance staff performance and processes.

\- Manage project design documentation and prepare deliverables for clients, ensuring timelines and critical path milestones are met.

\- Contribute to the creation of training materials for both current and new staff members.

Education & Experience:

\- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant field

\- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities

\- At least 10 years of experience in controls engineering and 5 years in a leadership capacity
