    Troy Industrial Solutions is looking for a motivated, career-minded individual with proven experience to fill aConventional / Manual Machinistposition. The individual in this position is responsible for fabricating and/or repairing large and small components as needed by our electro-mechanical repair shop. This is a job-shop environment with a fluid schedule. We do provide some short run / small batch parts production for a few customers, but most of our work is one-off parts for customer jobs.

    In this role you will be responsible for the following:

    • Operate manual mills, lathes, VTL, Bridgeport, and more.
    • Proficiency in the use of manual equipment, reading micrometers, and utilizing digital readouts is a must.
    • Reverse engineer old or obsolete parts and recreate to proper specifications and materials.
    • Interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, and the occasional “back of a napkin.”
    • Basic equipment maintenance and work area cleanliness
    • Review job orders that require machine work and provide estimates on time required for repair or fabrication.
    • Work alongside/support CNC machining with the opportunity to learn CNC if desired.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

    • Knowledge of standard machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and more
    • Ability to produce features on parts to tolerances of +/- 0.001”
    • Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Welding experience preferred

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of manual machining equipment required
    • Two-year degree from a technical school or certificate from an industrial program preferred
    • One to three years of actual work experience
