  • Responsibilities

    The Cook I may work as a cafeteria grill cook, cafeteria deli bar cook, cooks’ helper or cold production/pantry cook. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the preparation, cooking and panning of food, primarily vegetables, starches, soups, salads and sandwiches. Preps food for future production, may serve on patient tray line, functions as “back-up” to senior cooks. Cleans work area. Provides excellent customer service. May be asked to do other tasks associated with food service as the need arises.

    Required Skills

    • Ability to prepare a variety of foods.
    • Ability to use a variety of institutional food production equipment.
    • Ability to use a standardized recipe and alter yields correctly.
    • Ability to process orders quickly and accurately.
    • Excellent customer service skills.

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma preferred, but not required.
    • Culinary training beneficial
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English
    • Must have a minimum six (6) months work experience as a Grill Cook or Prep Cook .
