Copywriter
Summary: Responsible for ensuring and supervising that all text is accurate and ready for publication by writing, reviewing, proofreading, editing, and translating written materials including manuscripts for books and manuals, flyers, brochures, promotional materials, social media copy as well as a variety of other documents as required by the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Conceptualize and write engaging content for the organization’s online properties, online initiatives, campaigns, and projects
Contributes to the development of the Content strategy
Edit copy for the organization’s websites and social media properties
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Core Content strategy and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of the organization’s online properties
Maintains the organizational website's content guidelines and style guides
Collaborate with internal/external agencies to create copy for second-tier online properties such as event microsites, local ministry sites, digital product landing pages
Use audience data to guide future content creation, identify audience hot topics and generate new features/post types
Create buzzy email messages that will generate click-through and subscriber engagement
Communicate in the organization’s voice to develop a following that will share, like, and talk about the organization online. Ensure statistics and quotes are accurate and properly documented
Properly credit other works cited
Create compelling ad copy and marketing campaigns
Maintain ISBN files and other records diligently
Support the Department with special events and other logistic duties as required
Fully bilingual (English-Spanish) with excellent writing skills in both languages
Handle and maintain confidentiality on private documents and unpublished manuscripts
Write compelling content for print, web, product packaging, advertising, and marketing materials
Collaborate with designers and other creative teams
Qualifications:
Experience with SEO copywriting best practices
Experience with social media and content marketing
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
Strong editorial, proofreading, and writing skills
Familiarity with keyword research
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (4 Year Degree) with a mention in Communication, Marketing, English or journalism; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
