    DESCRIPTION

    Configuration analysts are responsible for developing and maintaining software and other technological aspects of a corporation. A configuration management analyst specializes in developing and recommending strategies to optimize a company's systems configuration procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Their responsibilities typically include performing research and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current systems, implementing solutions in problem areas, and coming up with configuration policies and regulations for a smooth workflow. Furthermore, a configuration management analyst may also provide configuration support, assisting in activities such as installing, troubleshooting, upgrading, and performing regular maintenance checks on systems.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Provide administration, maintenance, optimization, release management and technical support for end points in the Metro production environments
    • Provides CM (Configuration Management) process consulting services to project teams (small to large of varying complexity)
    • Assesses and analyzes the projects technical test environment needs, exploring alternative options when conflicts arise
    • Ensures all project team members understand and adhere to the Change Control processes as identified by the SDLC & CMM
    • Consults on physical and deployment design artefacts for small projects/ programs identifying issues to the appropriate manager
    • Master Data responsibilities over Configuration Management Database (CMDB) related to day-to-day activities of creating and maintaining systems on Metro Enterprise network documentation such as engineering change notices, material masters, BOM’s and routings, drawings
    • Liaise with the other areas in IT on Asset and Configuration Management on population of the Metro Enterprise applications (i.e., Oracle EBS, Hastus Giro, Infor EAMS and other mission critical applications).
    • Maintains configuration database, maintain configuration histories, version upgrades, patch and version management, role-based access control, audit reporting.
    • Response to user’s configuration change request
    • Oracle Inventory Systems.
    • Oracle Portal /MS Visual Basic program supports.
    • Maintain and upgrade the Oracle Inventory System.
    • General Functions
      • System documentation as requested IT Bench 11
      • Create specific documentation or reports as appropriate to implement projects.
      • Response to technical problems

    SKILLSETS

    • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework.
    • Strong knowledge of infrastructures, topologies, and protocols
    • Mastery-level understanding of configuration management related to applications, server, network, database, and schema.
    • Ability to manage and document technology configuration standards
    • Knowledge of latest configuration for workstation, notebook, server, video, audio and voice technology.
