Corporate Accountant:
Responsibilities of the Senior Corporate Accountant:
- Responsible for setting up accounting templates for a startup or new entitity, specifically creating templates for AR, AP, Invoicing and balance sheets
- Responsible for the preparation of position papers, including but not limited to researching and interpreting FASB standards and SEC guidance, and ensuring that the transaction is properly
- Recorded in the general ledger
- Responsible for reviewing the day-to-day accounting for the Company’s Debt and Preferred Equity Investment portfolio to ensure that it is accurate and complete
- Assist in the preparation of publicly filed documents (10Ks/10Qs and the supplemental package), including but not limited to the following: preparing financial statements, preparing footnote disclosures and preparing sections of MD&A
- Assist in the preparation of any ad hoc analyses requested by various members of management
- Effectively work and communicate with members of the team to ensure established deadlines are being met in an efficient, accurate and thorough manner
- Timely communicate the status of assigned tasks and special projects to management
- Present information, ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely
Requirements of the Senior Corporate Accountant:
- Accounting degree (CPA preferred)
- 3 + years of experience in Accounting
- Previous experience setting up new accounting procedures from scratch
- Familiarity with accounting software and programs
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to execute
- Effectively communicate with management, both verbally and through written communications
