Summary
The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a critical role in the financial health of the organization. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, alongside a proven ability to solve complex problems.
The manager will oversee the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, while also preparing and analyzing financial data to inform decision-making. This role involves contributing to the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, demonstrating the ability to take ownership of processes and analyses.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and possess the enthusiasm necessary to lead and influence team members effectively. Up to 20% travel could be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounting Management: Oversee all accounting operations related to accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Cash Flow Oversight: Manage daily cash flow forecasting to guarantee liquidity for operational needs; regularly review and approve payment requests to maintain financial stability.
- Financial Reporting: Assist the Corporate Controller in delivering timely financial reporting that enables management to make informed business decisions.
- Intracompany Reconciliation: Reconcile all intercompany transactions in a consolidation environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multi-site controllers to facilitate the timely completion of month-end close processes and promote best practices across locations.
- Financial Analysis Support: Support the Corporate Controller in preparing financial analyses, plans, studies, and presentations as required for senior management.
- Audit and Compliance: Assist with information requests for corporate financial reporting, tax compliance, and both internal and external audits throughout the year.
- Tax Support: Collaborate with external tax advisors to assist in quarterly income tax estimates and annual tax filings, ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Skill Development: Actively engage in cross-training opportunities to develop skills and support management functions.
- GAAP Compliance: Ensure that all accounting practices adhere to GAAP and meet all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance team.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required; minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment and 4 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with foreign currency transactions, consolidation processes, and eliminations is highly preferred.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Must interpret and act on diverse instructions provided in various formats.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experienced with NetSuite.
