    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a manufacturing/distribution company to recruit a Corporate Controller in Rochester, NY.

    Job Summary: The Corporate Controller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization's financial reporting. This role involves managing accounting functions, developing financial policies, supervising a team of finance professionals, and collaborating with senior management to drive strategic financial initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting and Compliance

    • Prepare and oversee the production of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
    • Manage audits, including liaising with external auditors and resolving audit findings.

    Accounting Operations

    • Lead and oversee general ledger functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
    • Establish and maintain efficient accounting processes and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
    • Monitor & forecast corporate cashflow & treasury activities

    Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Collaborate with the CFO and other stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and achieve organizational goals.

    Team Leadership

    • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Evaluate team performance and provide training to enhance skills and knowledge.

    Other

    • Support the CFO in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
    • Manage the organization sales / use tax exposure

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification required.
    • 10 years of accounting or finance leadership experience
    • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in a midsize manufacturing / distribution entity with heavy external reporting requirements.

  • Compensation
    $160,000-$180,000 per year
