    We are currently seeking a Corporate Controller. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee and drive financial and operational performance, ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, and implement effective internal controls. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and the full cycle monthly close process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to provide insightful financial analysis to support senior management in decision-making. The Controller will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, managing risks, and contributing to the organization's overall success.

    Responsibilities

    Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts

    Manage the prompt and accurate preparation of periodic financial reports and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

    Lead and manage the budgeting process and provide strategic financial analysis and business consulting to operations management

    Effectively utilize business analysis tools for projects such as cost of sales improvement, return on investment capital, new business opportunities and third-party business risk analysis

    Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted policies and procedures

    Fixed Assets: tracking of assets when put in service and replaced and management of depreciation schedules

    Ensure sales tax returns are filed by due date after review and verification and maintain compliance with all taxing authorities

    Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process

    Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses

    Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems

    Requirements and skills

    Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred

    Proven success as Controller or similar role in the restaurant industry, preferably for a corporate or franchise leader in Mexican cuisine

    Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation

    Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

    High level of attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills

    Must have the ability to independently complete multiple complex and challenging financial functions on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
