    Job Description

    While directly reporting to the VP of HR and Administration, the Corporate Office Manager is responsible for the employees and operations of corporate office departments. This person will ensure the smooth running of the office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operations by working closely with the corporate office staff. A successful Corporate Office Manager at Dunn Lumber is one that can multitask and keep a pulse on the day-to-day processes of the AR, Credit, and Vendor Auditing departments, as well as partner with our Controller surrounding the Accounting, Payroll, and AP departments. This person needs to be a team player who can effectively coach and mentor the teams they manage.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

    • Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that the office is operating smoothly
    • Monitor and manage timesheets, time off requests, and employee PTO balances
    • Conduct one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations
    • Work with HR to develop office policies and procedures, and ensure they are implemented appropriately
    • Oversee daily operations and help with problems or unusual situations that arise
    • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements, and design and implement new systems
    • In the Accounts Receivable/Credit Department: monitor aging, assist with collection calls, help with problems and become capable of full back up if needed
    • In the Vendor Audit Specialists Department: monitor workload, learn the processes, and help with vendor or store receiving and invoicing issues as they arise
    • With our Payroll Department: Complete biweekly payroll tasks, and learn full payroll cycle to be able to be a full backup
    • Partner with Controller to maintain an understanding of Accounting and AP performance
    • Answer any customer inquiries that are elevated by corporate office employees

    Qualifications for Office Manager

    • 2-5 years of work experience in a direct employee management role
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Associates Degree; Bachelors Degree is preferred

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees; planning, assigning and monitoring work. This position will also evaluate and conduct performance reviews, reward/discipline employees, and address any corporate office personnel complaints with the support of the Human Resources Manager. This is not a remote position.
