    Position Title: Corporate Safety and Fleet Manager Home Office: Corydon, IN

    FLSA: Exempt

    Position Summary:

    To provide site safety leadership, ensure facility compliance with governmental and corporate safety standards, improve safety performance, and ensure facility safety and auto policies and procedures are implemented. Complete by identify existing and predictable hazards in working and driving conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to personnel and will take prompt corrective actions to eliminate them.

    Plan, direct, and coordinate the organization’s safety expectations/services by performing the following:

    Essential Functions:

    · Facilitate the work environment of multiple locations to support a safe, and health conscious culture;

    · Oversight of employee safety and auto fleet programs for all sites to determine their adequacy including development of short and long term strategic safety planning goals;

    · Provide training, technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring employees on safety and auto initiatives and necessary changes;

    · Develop, manage and update written policies for safety, auto, ergonomic, and workers’ compensation.

    · Provides support to Safety Champions at each facility location;

    · Serves as the principal point of contact for Safety Corrective Action Tracking system and other safety, health and auto safety functions;

    · Technically proficient in various risk reduction principles including safety, health, fleet safety and loss control principles, mod lowering strategies, compliance with multiple agency standards such as OSHA, NIOSH, and DOT, etc.;

    · Shall ensure that all activities under his/her direction are completed in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances, codes and standards;

    · Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure compliance with safety and health laws, standards and codes;

    · Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with internal policies as well as DOT and state licensing, permitting and inspection requirments;

    · Prepare and maintain records for audits including facility audits, driving logs, DOT Logs, pre driving inspection reports and accident documentation;

    · Stay updated on changes to occupational safety, health and transportation safety regulations and adjust policies accordingly;

    · Manage insurance related paperwork for all work injuries and illnesses and auto accidents in order to ensure timely submission of insurance related paperwork;

    · Investigate employee and auto accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future accidents and manage return-to-work activities;

    · Ability to prepare written reports for management, addressing findings from inspections and audits, and recommendations for corrective action. Interpret and articulate complex technical information and regulations in a clear and concise fashion both in oral and written form.

    Other Responsibilities:

    Performs other work related duties as assigned

    Education, Experience and Skills Required:

    · Bachelor’s degree required in occupational safety and health, logistics transportation or related field; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A specialty discipline or CSP, ASP or CHST certification is required.

    · Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and other state and federal agency guidelines

    · Completed minimum OSHA 10-hour training in past 5 years

    · Valid basic first aid/CPR card preferred

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

    · Ability to communicate with employees at all levels

    · Considerable discretion, judgment, high degree of confidentiality, and professionalism

    · Comfortable working with and reporting to individuals at the executive level

    · Ability to work with limited supervision

    · Knowledge of the insurance industry a plus, including claims management process

    · Lease, purchase, and vehicle maintenance and repair experience

    Supervisory Responsibility

    · This position is functionally responsible for the manner in which safety work is performed by all facility employees

    Equipment to be Provided

    · Lap Top Computer

    · Personal Protective Equipment: head protection, reflective vest, fall protection, and respirator as needed.

    Travel Requirements

    · Facilities located in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida and Alabama.

    · Monthly travel to all locations

    Supervision:

    Reports to: Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer

    Supervises: Site Safety Champions
