    Job Overview:

    We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Cost Accounting / Office Assistant to support the accounting team and ensure efficient office operations. This role will focus on assisting with cost accounting duties such as tracking costs, managing financial records, and providing administrative support to maintain smooth operations in the office.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Cost Accounting Support:

    • Assist in the preparation of cost reports and analysis, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
    • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual cost allocation and budgeting processes.
    • Track and maintain inventory costs, including monitoring stock levels and processing updates.
    • Assist in variance analysis to identify discrepancies in expected vs. actual costs.
    • Help prepare cost-related documentation for audits or financial reviews.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial reports related to cost accounting and provide insights as necessary.

    Office Administrative Support:

    • Answer and direct phone calls, handle incoming and outgoing mail, and maintain office communications.
    • Organize and schedule appointments and meetings, ensuring all necessary materials are prepared.
    • Maintain accurate filing systems, both electronic and paper, ensuring that cost and accounting documents are easily accessible.
    • Assist in general office tasks such as ordering supplies, managing office equipment, and ensuring a well-maintained office environment.
    • Provide administrative support to the accounting team with data entry, spreadsheet management, and report generation.

    Other Duties:

    • Support office staff with various ad hoc tasks as required.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth communication and project completion.
    • Assist with data entry and document preparation as required by the finance and accounting departments.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
    • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an office or accounting environment, ideally with exposure to cost accounting.
    • Skills: * Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. * Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. * Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. * Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial processes.

    • Ability to sit for extended periods, use office equipment, and perform repetitive tasks.
