Midwest Marble & Granite is Olathe, KS’s premier granite and marble countertop provider. The company was founded by a countertop expert who wanted to provide clients with better service, higher levels of expertise, and a joyful experience.
Many companies can cut, fabricate, and install countertops. Our #1 job at Midwest is helping homeowners fall back in love with their homes. We also enjoy helping designers, remodelers, and builders shine for their clients.

We have an apprentice program. We will give you the best training out there, but you must earn the right to be trained by our experts.

Be able to demonstrate your knowledge of handling, cleaning, installing, and touchups of stone products
Experience—We require 1+ years of successful experience in general construction (residential or commercial). If you have direct countertop installation experience, this is a plus. Your starting wage will be based on your level of experience and referrals/recommendations.
Experience using grinders and polishers
Effective, professional, and thoughtful communication (especially verbally) with our clients, your team, our suppliers, and our staff.
Technical/Mechanical — must have the ability to take accurate measurements using various tools and must be able to read basic plans.
Problem solver — must demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a way that ensures a happy long-term client and is as cost-effective as possible for the company. The ability to foresee and prevent problems is a big plus.
Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment screening (includes but not limited to drug screening, motor vehicle and criminal background checks)
Must be able to carry/lift to 100lbs, utilizing the lift and other tools as appropriate
Valid/insurable driver’s license.
US Citizen or be eligible to work in the United States
You must have a presentable wardrobe (shirts provided), but shorts and pants must be as clean as possible, with no holes/rips/tears, and must fit appropriately. Hair, hands, and fingernails must also be as clean as possible.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Familiarity with templating procedures using LT software is a huge plus.
Familiarity with EasedEdge software a huge plus.
Must provide 3+ work-related references that can be verified
Steady work history is a plus
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparation for each day’s projects/installations: Complete checklists and ensure all necessary materials are loaded in the van/trucks.
Proper care and handling of stone, materials/supplies, and equipment. We expect you to treat these things like your own (or your father’s).
Site prep (often includes tearouts), installation, finish, and cleaning of stone countertops, backsplashes, sinks, faucets, and other items as needed.
Communication with clients and office staff while onsite.
Upload progress and final pictures, make notes of work performed, and alert the operations manager or project manager of any issues or potential issues with the installation or client.
Work with your team in a professional and results-oriented manner.
Follow/execute work orders with minimal supervision, taking appropriate action to ask questions if things are unclear. Do not guess while onsite. This causes delays, costs more, and creates unnecessary conflict with the clients and your team.
Cleaning up after every visit. No trash, no screws/nails or hardware, no equipment or materials left behind.
Proper tracking of job time (time leaving office to arriving at the client and back to the office).
No smoking while onsite (in or around the site), no smoking in the vehicles, and no smoking, eating, or drinking in the client’s home.
If you leave the job site for lunch or a break, you must tell the client when you will return.
Ensure the safety of yourself, your team, the homeowners, our suppliers and partners.
Safely operate the vehicles and equipment/tools.
Clean and organize the vehicles each evening or early morning to ensure they are read (stocked, gassed, proper safety and maintenance checks).
Help the team with other projects as necessary—this could include cleaning, organizing, painting, maintaining the shop/office/vehicles, helping with inventory management, and cross-training on other shop duties (cutting, fabrication, software, templating).

Work hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm (start and end times may vary depending on the project and location). Overtime and Saturday work are possible.
