    We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of leading teams and managing capital projects in a food manufacturing plant.

    As the Plant Engineer, reporting to the Plant Director, the primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the engineering, reliability, and maintenance operations of our production facilities, ensuring that equipment and machinery are maintained and repaired to the highest standards.

    • Facilitate engineering / technical aspects of capital spending project design and execution.
    • Provide leadership on design and flow of all equipment and related work processes for the facility in partnership with Operations and equipment vendors.
    • Develop and maintain timelines and budgets for all engineering and maintenance related projects and day to day activities, and routinely share out to management our progress versus budget and our KPIs
    • Maintenance & Reliability Management: Lead, plan, and manage all aspects of the maintenance department, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure the smooth operation of the manufacturing plant.
    • Ensure safe, sanitary, & reliable operation and maintenance of all plant production equipment, utility systems, and building / grounds.
    • Facilitate and advise on safety and environmental compliance matters.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Asset Management: Oversee the maintenance of all mechanical equipment and machinery in the plant, including preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and equipment upgrades.
    • Reliability and Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to maximize equipment reliability, increase production efficiency, and reduce downtime.
    • Budget and Resource Planning: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and in a cost-efficient manner. Evaluate and source spare parts and supplies.

    What will make you successful in this role:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering and maintenance management within a food manufacturing environment.
    • Strong knowledge of food processing equipment and full understanding of associated technologies.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills – ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously.
    • Physical Asset, Utilities, Maintenance Management including implementation of TMP.
    • Project management experience is a plus.
