    BASIC FUNCTION

    The position of Maintenance Generalist is responsible for maintaining the equipment and property of the park.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Performs routine maintenance on interior and exterior of park buildings.
    2. Performs daily inspections of park attractions.
    3. Must be able to follow pre-established guidelines to ensure the safe and efficient condition of all buildings, ride/slide structures, signs, and other park facilities.
    4. Maintains a schedule of maintenance performed.
    5. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, buildings, facilities, and/or ride/slide structures.
    6. Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical and carpentry functions.
    7. Use a variety of material handling equipment, hand and power tools in performing duties.
    8. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to reporting leader or management.
    9. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
    10. Greet guests, visitors and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
    11. Provide excellent customer service.
    12. Work independently and be self-motivated.
    13. Keep a clean orderly work area.
    14. Maintain an environment that keeps safety the number one concern for all guests, visitors and employees.
    15. Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills and abilities.
    16. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements.
    17. Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe, as determined by the reporting leader.
    18. Adhere to company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters.
    19. Provide reporting leader with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely consistent basis.
    20. Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

    1. Must be able to lift, move and handle chemicals responsibly.
    2. Must be a team player.
    3. Decision making and judgement focused on safety, prevention, and high-quality guest experience.
    4. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ideally, the applicant should have 1 or more of the below items in their skillset.

    1. Intermediate level Plumbing training/relevant work experience.
    2. Intermediate level Carpentry training/relevant work experience.
    3. Intermediate level Electrical training/relevant work experience.
    4. Intermediate level HVAC training/relevant work experience.
    5. Intermediate level Pool Filtration systems training/relevant work experience.
    6. Intermediate level Small Motor/Pump repair training/relevant work experience.

    REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:

    Education:  High School diploma or equivalent

    Experience: 2 years’ in Water Parks Maintenance or work related field

    Certification/Licensure:  Must possess a valid driver’s license. Most possess, or obtain within 1 month of hire, CPO License.

    Working Conditions:

                  Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands

                  Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly

    Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment

                  Must be able to work varied shifts; including evenings, weekends, and holidays

    Special Skills:

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

                  Positive and effective customer service skills

                  Proficient in safe operation and knowledgeable of power tools

                  Proficient in carpentry

                  Teamwork orientation

                  Accuracy, thoroughness and self-monitoring to ensure quality work

                  Motivated self-starter

                  Must be a minimum of 18 years old       

    Physical Demands of the Job:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and read, talk and hear.

                  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch or crawl.

                  The employee may occasionally work at heights above 100 feet.

                  The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty five pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to hundred pounds.

    The employee may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

                  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

                  The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

                  The noise level is generally moderate to high.
