    The Role

    At Veev we develop homes as a product, by pre-fabricating the home in our factories and transporting the pieces to the various sites for final assembly into a finished home product. Our site operation is a natural extension of our factory assembly line and has unique opportunities to develop remote assembly processes. As we continue to expand operations, Veev's field construction division is seeking a strong motivated Crane Operator. The Crane Operator/ Assembly Associate will be responsible to use and maintain one of our fleet cranes (Articulating Boom or Telescopic Boom) to assemble our homes in the field.

    Responsibilities

    • In this role, the applicant will need to juggle various types of challenges, while demonstrating the ability to be multi disciplinary and flexible while thinking and acting with a sense of ownership and urgency.
    • The Crane Operator/Rigger selects and operates the appropriate crane or piece of heavy equipment, as well as rig and transport equipment for lifting.
    • Select, inspect, and prepare slings, spreaders, shackles, and hooks for lifts.
    • Complete assembly and disassembly which includes extending jibs or dead sections, changing blocks, changing cable, and changing multi and single part lines.
    • Operate equipment for maintenance activities in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner, by ensuring that all necessary procedures, practices, standards, and rules are followed.
    • Maintain all crane equipment.
    • Inspect all cranes annually for defective parts and/or malfunctions.
    • Perform safety inspection of the crane daily prior to use.
    • Complete and maintain lift and critical lift plans.

    Qualifications

    • NCCCO, TLL (Telescopic Boom Crane/ Swing Cab) and ABC (Articulating Boom Crane) certifications are required.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a crane operator knowledge of equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
    • Must be able to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stand for long periods of time.
    • Excellent manual dexterity.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders.
    • Ability to navigate through the site while operating the cranes.
    • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

    Compensation

    Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $40-$45 hourly for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
