    Overview:

    Arts Bonita's School of the Arts seeks a skilled and passionate Creative Metalwork Instructor or Department Head to lead our growing metal arts program. This position requires an experienced artist or educator with expertise in creative metalworking techniques, welding, and fabrication who can inspire students of all levels to explore their artistic potential. The ideal candidate will bring a unique vision and advanced technical skills, fostering a collaborative and creative learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop engaging, hands-on metalwork courses for students of varying skill levels, including beginners and advanced learners.

    Teach foundational and advanced metalworking, welding, cutting, shaping, and finishing techniques.

    Lead workshops on creative applications of metal arts, such as sculpture, furniture making, and jewelry design

    Maintain a safe, organized, well-equipped metalwork studio, overseeing proper equipment use and safety protocols.

    Engage in curriculum development, integrating innovative techniques and industry trends.

    Collaborate with other Arts Bonita faculty to support interdisciplinary projects and program development.

    Mentor and advise students, providing feedback to foster skill development and artistic growth

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Metalworking, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

    3+ years of experience teaching metal arts or related fields in an educational setting, with a portfolio of creative work

    Proficiency in metalworking techniques, including MIG, TIG, and oxyacetylene welding, as well as metal finishing processes

    Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students

    Flexibility to teach evenings and weekends, aligning with program scheduling needs

    Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe and productive workshop environment

    Department Head candidates should also have experience in program leadership, curriculum development, and managing studio resources
