About the Role: This position is ideal for an experienced attorney with a strong background in criminal law, whether through defense or prosecution, who is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll represent clients in state criminal matters, advocate for their rights, and contribute to the firm’s mission of providing exceptional legal services. Responsibilities: • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients, whether at the office or detention centers, to assess their legal requirements and develop an optimal case strategy. • Supervise a diverse caseload that covers misdemeanors and felonies, managing each case from inception to resolution. • Attend hearings and trials conducted in state courts located in Northern Virginia to represent clients effectively. • Support clients by preparing, filing, and presenting legal documents such as court motions and memoranda to state judges in Northern Virginia. Qualifications: • Admission to the Virginia State Bar. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense is preferred, which should include handling felony cases and conducting jury trials. • Proven track record of effectively handling both state and federal criminal cases is essential. • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must for successful client representation in and out of the courtroom. Compensation: $110,000+ annually
