    Position Overview:

    The Sexual Assault Advocate at Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia (CL&SH) ensures high-quality client-centered services are provided to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

    Sexual Assault (SA) Advocate plays a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and resources to survivors of sexual assault. The SA Advocate is a compassionate and skilled individual who listens attentively and empowers survivors to navigate the system and make informed decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of sexual assault and its aftermath, as well as a commitment to promoting social justice and advocating for the rights and well-being of survivors.

    All duties are performed in alignment with CL&SH's mission and philosophy.

    Essential Job Functions as Sexual Assault Response Advocate:

    Provide Emotional Support: the advocate will offer empathetic listening, compassion, and validation to survivors of sexual assault in person or via our hotline.

    Advocacy: the advocate acts as a guide and advocate for survivors. The advocate is present throughout forensic medical exams at the Sexual Assault Center or hospitals and accompanies survivors to law enforcement interviews.

    Information and Resources: the advocate will assist survivors in understanding their rights and options, providing them with resources such as hotlines, counseling services, support groups, and educational materials.

    Crisis Intervention: the advocate will provide crisis intervention services, offering immediate support during highly emotional or traumatic situations. They assist survivors in promoting self-care and providing information about emergency hotlines and shelters.

    Community Education and Awareness: the advocate will participate in community education and awareness initiatives to raise awareness about sexual assault prevention, consent, and healthy relationships and promote a culture of consent and respect.

    Requirements of Position Applicants:

    Experience in social work, psychology, criminal justice, community counseling, or equivalent work experience

    Possess a background in non-profit work.

    Possess a knowledge of victim advocacy.

    Possess an understanding of sexual assault dynamics.

    Possess an understanding of domestic violence dynamics.

    Able to work independently.

    Able to utilize the resources available both in the community and in-house.

    Pass a criminal background check.

    Willing to submit to random drug screenings.

    Willing to adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

    4:00 pm - 12:00 am (Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays)

    12:00 am - 8:00 am (Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays)

    8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Weekends & Holidays)
