    Job Summary

    The Critical Home Repair (CHR) Project Coordinator directs and manages all aspects related to CHR including, but not limited to, people, functions, partner agencies, and contractors, responsible for completing production and program requirements involving lead abatement, energy efficiency and home repair projects. The CHR Project Coordinator oversees the process from start to finish. Responsibilities include working with partner families, reviewing scopes, managing contractors, and maintaining schedules.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project Management

    • Develop relationships with partner agencies.
    • Work with partner families to review lead risk assessments and work scopes.
    • Assist CHR manager with tasks associated with lead abatement projects, energy efficiency projects and critical home repairs.
    • Act as a construction liaison between homeowner, contractor and local or state agencies mediating as necessary
    • Maintain consistent, respectful and clear communication.

    Contractor – Selection and Management

    • Help to develop a contractor pool that can adequately sustain between 75 - 125 projects per year.
    • Work with contractors to ensure the scopes are properly understood and executed efficiently.
    • Manage issues of jobsite safety and security, and adhere to all lead abatement processes and procedures.
    • Ensure worksites have lead abatement certified workers; safe work practices are used; occupant protection plan has been followed; the work site is secured and daily logs are kept.
    • Scheduling contractors and ensuring materials are ordered to complete the job.

    Budget and Contract Management

    • Ensure that homeowners understand occupant eligibility criteria, relocation processes as needed, and conditions for participation.
    • Review scopes of work
    • Solicit bids, write and manage contracts for contracted work.

    Coordination of Efforts with Various Departments

    • Attend neighborhood partner meetings related to housing and home improvements.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

    Experience:

    • Experience working with diverse populations.
    • Strong background in customer service preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of remodeling/home repair practices and terms.
    • Experience with scheduling contractors or similar preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Valid Wisconsin driver license and good driving record required.
    • Able to satisfactorily complete Lead Worker training within 6 months of employment.
    • Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, Google products: Gmail, Drive, Calendar
    • Team player with excellent personnel management skills to build a strong team
    • Strong communication skills
    • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
    • Able to think strategically and to envision and balance “big-picture” priorities.
    • Able to work efficiently with maximum attention to detail; highly organized and able to follow directions.
    • Able to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively.
    • Able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

    Compensation

    • $18-$20 per hour, based upon experience
    • Hourly / Non-Exempt with full benefit package
    • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4pm, some evening and weekend availability is required.
