Director of IT

Crossroads Trading Co., founded in 1991 and now one of the largest brick & mortar buy-sell-trade clothing retailers in the nation, is seeking a Director of Information Technology. As the leader of the department, you will play an integral role in ensuring the department meets the demands of the company’s 40 stores and is well situated to meet additional needs as the company continues to grow and open stores in both existing and new markets.
Position Description
As the Director of Information Technology you will report to the VP of Operations and will manage and direct the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service. You will provide strategic leadership on projects, directing your team's efforts towards successful completion while meeting organizational goals along the way. You also will scale the organization's help desk function to support the evolving business needs. The ability to communicate complicated technical issues in a non-technical way is a must as you will be interacting with employees on every level of the organization, from entry-level store management to C-Suite executives.
Supervisory responsibilities
Hires and trains IT staff.
Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team, which works a hybrid work model.
Conducts performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties and responsibilities
Leads development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems and department
Devises and establishes IT policies and systems to support business goals.
Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
Grows and scales help desk functions to meet changing business needs.
Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
Purchases efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
Prepares and controls the budget and reports on expenditures
Required skills and qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in latest technology for all aspects of IT infrastructure: computer systems, security, network, systems administration, database and data storage systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.
Experience in developing and maintaining information technology budget
Strong knowledge of project management principals.
Proven experience as an IT Director or similar role.
Education and experience
Bachelors, Masters, or MBA preferred.
At least ten years of experience managing an IT department.
