Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Benefits and Payroll, the Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll specialist, and their duties include coordinating with the finance and people & culture departments to process payroll for new employees or monitor payroll schedules. They also may be required to work on benefits projects and other areas as assigned.
The Payroll Manager has a direct impact on business outcomes such as ensuring employees are paid on time, treating employees as clients, and creating a culture of performance and continuous improvement for the payroll function.
Payroll Manager’s Primary Areas of Focus:
Delivers high quality client service consistent with Crunch’s operational standards and practices. In this role, the client is the employee.
Marries the priorities of payroll with business and people & culture strategies and priorities.
Champions commitment to continuous improvement and commitment to payroll and reporting.
Consistently achieves or exceeds productivity and performance metrics by identifying continuous improvement opportunities and leading the effort to implement changes for the payroll function.
Main Accountabilities:
Manages the Employee Experience with Payroll
Prepare reports for quarterly, yearly and weekly reports.
Review and abide by company and payroll policies and procedures.
Make sure account balances are correct.
Resolve payroll errors.
Manage payroll staff.
Monitor promotions, transfers and terminations.
Ensure that payroll goes out in a timely manner.
Responsible for the complete task of printing, reviewing, editing, and processing all payroll related data using UKG PRO and Dimensions Timekeeping systems.
Transmits biweekly payroll to UKG, reviews payroll preview, sets up for a new payroll cycle, download reports from the UKG server.
Resolves all payroll discrepancies, serves as backup to the Director of Benefits and Payroll in all areas of Payroll.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years payroll leadership experience.
2+ years’ experience managing people.
Experience with UKG and UltiPro preferred. Will consider those with other payroll systems experience.
Demonstrates a breadth and depth of operational service delivery management expertise focused on service quality, people, process and technology.
Strong communicator at all levels.
