    Join our Team! The Big Chill 30A is a family friendly entertainment complex located on historic 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our venue hosts 6 restaurants, 3 bars, retail shops, an amphitheater for live music and a 25’ LED Jumbotron for sports and movies. We are open year-round, from 7am to 10pm.

    The Culinary Manager oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, efficient workflow, and compliance with food safety standards. The role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and controlling food costs while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

    Requirements:

    Minimum of 5 years relevant kitchen operations experience

    Minimum of 2 years direct kitchen supervisory experience

    Organization - detail oriented, able to balance multiple projects while adhering to deadlines and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner

    Communication – able to effectively communicate in person and electronically with coworkers, vendors, management and customers while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor

    Leadership – able to oversee process, guide department initiatives, and steer staff toward the achievement of company goals

    Safety and Sanitation - Knowledge of and compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operations

    Monitor day to day BOH workflow

    Actively participate in every aspect of food service operations with the ability to fill into all BOH positions

    Full availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays

    Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

    Food Quality

    Ensure quality of all products from purchasing & receiving to storage, preparation and service

    Conduct service line checks before and as needed during shifts while providing positive and corrective feedback

    Set and maintain high food quality standards through strong, positive role modeling

    Sanitation & Safety

    Current ServSafe Manager Certification

    Monitor food safety according to state guidelines ensuring quality is above minimum standards

    Monitor all kitchen equipment, repairs and maintenance programs while communicating needs to the maintenance team.

    Assist in detailed sanitation inspections providing corrective action plans when necessary

    Staffing & Development

    Assist in the recruitment of BOH staff as needed

    Ensure all BOH staff are fully trained to operate effectively based on business level projections

    Actively participate in the creation and maintenance of staff development plans while providing feedback to staff and management

    Assist with scheduling of BOH

    Possess the ability to use provided documentation to hire, train, coach, evaluate and apply progressive discipline policies

    Evaluate the quality, care and morale of staff and make recommendations to the management team

    Actively participate in staff and management meetings as requested
