Curb Machine Operator
Day Shift - with some OT and possibly weekends. It may vary depending on circumstances / weather, etc.
- Operate concrete curb machine.
- Knowledge of concrete admixtures
- Pour job from start to finish and clean machine once completed
- Light machine maintenance including, but not limited to greasing bearings, monitoring fluid levels, etc.
- Ability to read stakes and measure to curb ensuring concrete is being poured accurately
- Prepare, align and set horizontal concrete forms.
- Use saws to cut expansion joints or remove concrete.
- Finish concrete which may include dye, color, stamp or various other types of finish.
- Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as curbs, sidewalks, roads, pads and ramps using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Understand concrete measurements.
- Ability to use all tools required by concrete finishers.
- Ability to work weekends as needed which may require working more than 40 hours.
- Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
- Keep work site areas and company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle or site problems.
- Comply with all policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform any other general duties as specified.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must have 5+ years’ experience operating a curb machine.
- Must have 5+ years’ experience working with concrete, building/dismantling forms and supporting concrete pouring/finishing operation.
- Must have experience finishing curb, gutter, drains and ADA ramps.
- Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
- Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
- Employee will be required to long periods of time standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
- May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
- Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time
- Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
