Cybersecurity Engineer
Detroit, MI | Contract | $50-$60/hr
Konik is partnering with a manufacturer that is looking to add an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to their team on a contract basis. This would be an initial 6 month contract period with a possibility of being extended.
Cybersecurity Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) across various levels, defining cybersecurity controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Support the Chief Cybersecurity Engineer in shaping and implementing Polaris’ enterprise-wide product cybersecurity strategy.
- Advise product owners, engineers, and development teams on security concerns and best practices for risk mitigation.
- Develop, refine, and validate cybersecurity requirements to align with TARA findings and gain leadership approval.
- Conduct design reviews, define in-vehicle cybersecurity architectures, and implement security controls to protect systems throughout their lifecycle.
Cybersecurity Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, IT security, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in automotive cybersecurity, embedded system security, or IoT/cyber-physical security.
- Proficiency in conducting threat analysis, risk assessments, and using TARA tools.
- Experience in defining cybersecurity requirements and designing security controls like secure boot, secure reprogramming, and IDS/IPS.
- Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently and excellent communication skills.
