Dallas Frameless Glass is currently seeking an experienced and proficient professional to fill a position as Senior Glazier Installer to manage various residential and commercial glass projects.
The candidate must be capable of running multiple projects simultaneously. This person must be a problem-solver, have exceptional communication skills, an understanding of budgets,
organizational skills, a firm grasp of construction processes from preconstruction to closeout, and a willingness to adapt and learn.
This leadership position requires a team member who can manage people, processes, and materials and has the confidence and knowledge to make critical decisions under pressure.
Qualifications:
Must have detailed business knowledge of the glass industry, specifically frameless glass, knowledge of glazing codes, doors, and hardware.
Expertise in the following glass/glazing scopes, including but not limited to sliding glass doors, frameless showers, windows, mirrors, tabletops, cabinets, interior-glass entrances.
Computer knowledge and efficiency; should be tech-savvy.
Understanding of contracts and risk management.
Demonstrate leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong decision-making/problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, without Project Manager or Operations Manager.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Strong take-off and cost estimating skills specific to glass benefitting to the top candidates.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers, architects, management & site personnel, etc.
Strong vendor relationships and competent knowledge of labor requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Mainly, he will be managing the Glazier Installer and Glazier Assistant.
Manages assigned projects directly with the Glass Estimator and Project Manager to successfully complete the project.
Manages assigned 1 to 3 employees for Admin and Operations Matters.
Oversee all team members’ work.
Prepare a preliminary schedule and work with the team members to develop and update the Monthly Master Project Schedule.
Participate in Scope meetings with Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Installers; preconstruction meetings with Owner/Architect.
Review/Approve Subcontractors and Vendors Invoices.
Oversee the project milestones and deliverables and take actions to meet them.
Management of the team members and or individuals on-site and day-to-day activity of the assigned projects.
Monitor, lead and direct the projects’ progress, as well as hold daily meetings with the projects’ installers.
Review and approve subcontract drafts before issuance to Subs.
Review and comment on GC’s draft contracts; make sure all bonds and insurance are in place before signing.
Manage projects budgets; Prepare Schedule of Values.
Review Change Orders and approve/revise accordingly.
Experience:
Preferably 3 - 5+ years of Installation and Management experience in the Glass Industry.
3 or more years experience managing projects valued at $1 Million+
Ability to read and interpret glass drawings, specifications, structural drawings, and all schedules to understand project intent.
Preferably experience utilizing project management software, spreadsheets, and
estimating software.
