Job Description
This opportunity will lead the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) / Reliability Engineering deployment for the Electromechanical Systems Division. You will be responsible for driving robust failure analysis and risk mitigation strategies to enhance the reliability and performance of electromechanical products.
What You’ll Do:
Lead DFMEA Initiatives: Develop and implement a comprehensive DFMEA strategy to improve product reliability and reduce failure rates for electromechanical systems. Oversee the integration of DFMEA methodologies into the product development process.
Support Reliability Engineering: Provide direct support for the Reliability Engineering program by leading and collaborating with engineering teams to identify potential failure modes and their effects on product performance. Ensure effective use of DFMEA in driving reliability improvements.
Mentor and Train: Mentor and train engineers, supervisors, and managers on DFMEA processes, reliability engineering, and problem-solving techniques. Provide guidance on conducting DFMEA reviews, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
Collaborate on NPD Projects: Partner with cross-functional teams to apply DFMEA in new product development (NPD) projects, ensuring that potential failure modes are identified and addressed early in the design phase. Play a key role in the successful execution of product launches.
Risk Management: Establish and manage a risk management process to identify, prioritize, and address failure modes across the division. Develop strategies for mitigating risks and ensuring product reliability.
Training and Development: Coordinate and conduct training sessions on DFMEA, reliability engineering, and related tools. Develop training materials and work with training organizations to enhance curriculum and training effectiveness.
Business Acumen and Improvement: Participate in strategic planning and organizational capability assessments. Provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and support cost reduction initiatives.
Support and Consultation: Offer consulting support for DFMEA and reliability-related challenges within and outside the Electromechanical Systems Division. Provide rapid response to issues and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
* Experience with DFMEA processes and tools in electromechanical systems.
* Proven experience in reliability engineering, including conducting DFMEA and risk assessments.
* Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and their failure modes.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data.
* Effective communication and mentoring skills.
* Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future.
* Certification in Reliability Engineering (CRE) or similar credentials.
* Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing NPD projects.
* Knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
* Proven track record of successful implementation of DFMEA and reliability improvements.
