We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. This role involves helping residents with daily living activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and following dietary guidelines.
Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly.
Support residents in community outings, recreational activities, and social engagement.
Encourage independence while ensuring safety and supervision.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces.
Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents per agency policies.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare providers, and family members.
Follow all state regulations and agency policies to ensure the highest standard of care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification, etc. (or willingness to obtain).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
