    Part-Time Delivery Driver

    FLSA Status: Full-time, Hourly

    Hours: 24 hours per week

    Hourly Rate: $20-24/hour

    COMPANY DESCRIPTION

    Dreaming Out Loud’s mission is to create economic opportunities for the DC metro region’s marginalized community members through building a healthy, equitable food system. Dreaming Out Loud is rebuilding urban, community-based food systems through social enterprise, helping increase access to healthy food and do our best to direct resources towards producers, food makers and workers from our community and to model what an anti-racist food system looks like. To that end, we engage in wholesale distribution of produce and locally made products from our in-house growing and culinary team as well as from our family of vendors.

    KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ● Pick-up produce inventory from local farms

    ● Utilize RouteSpecific and spreadsheets to confirm that inventory loaded onto truck from farmers is accurate

    ● Transport perishable and non-perishable products to/from customers and other facilities (e.g., restaurants, schools, etc.)

    ● Ensure that produce and products are delivered to Dreaming Out Loud Inc.’s customers in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations

    ● Interact regularly with farmers and customers; provide exceptional customer service ● Troubleshoot any customer service issues or problems

    ● Communicate any customer preferences or issues to Department Managers and Supervisors ● Operate DOL vehicles in a safe and professional manner

    ● Report any vehicle maintenance issues using proper inspection format and verbal communication to supervisors

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    ● Requires a large degree of walking and climbing in and out of trucks throughout each work day. ● Requires a large degree of lifting (up to 50 pounds), loading, and unloading produce, dairy products, and dry goods

    ● Outside work for extended periods of time throughout each work day

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    ● High school diploma or its equivalent

    ● Must be at least 21 years of age

    ● Must have a clean MVR for the past 2 years

    ● Able to obtain a DOT Medical Examiner’s card

    ● Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical/drug screen and employment verifications per FMCR

    ● Experience with pallet jacks or lifts, preferred

    ● Ability to operate commercial vehicles

    ● Customer service experience in any industry

    ● General knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the transportation field

    ● Ability to interact with DOL customers and be a frontline representative of the Company ● Ability to comprehend and fully follow established and new company policies and procedures ● Ability to work in and adapt to changing business patterns

    ● Must have good customer service and communication skills

    ● Must be a responsible driver with good knowledge of roads and map reading skills ● Strong work ethic

    COMPENSATION: The hourly rate is $20-24/hour plus a $500 sign-on bonus. Some key benefits are an additional yearly bonus (based on driving record), and PTO.
