    Job Description

    DSDT is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented Information Technology Instructor to ensure DSDT's adult students are equipped with the necessary skills for success in entry and mid-level tech careers. The Information Technology Instructor will deliver DSDT's structured and approved curriculum in full-time technical training.

     

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

    DSDT is seeking a multi-talented Instructor and Technology professional to deliver high-quality instruction to a diverse student population who are seeking to acquire skills and credentials that will prepare them for career opportunities in technology.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Deliver classroom training in a highly interactive style to prepare adult students for entry-level to mid-level careers in Information Technology
    • Provide daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, one-on-one tutoring, evaluation, and monitoring of individual student progress
    • Manage student behavior, monitor and enforce student class attendance.
    • Work closely with Student Services to identify student needs, provide necessary support, establish individualized plans for student achievement, and participate in regular student status meetings
    • Maintain and update Canvas with student grades and attendance.
    • Work with Career Services to recommend students for employment opportunities and incorporate soft skills in the classroom.
    • Participate in extracurricular activities such as job fairs, graduations, employer visits, and professional events as applicable.
    • Participate in appropriate professional development organizational meetings.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • At least 1 year of teaching experience
    • At least 1 year of IT Work experience
    • Experience with curriculum, syllabus development and lesson planning a plus
    • Experience with methods and strategies to explain and clarify complex topics to students with diverse experiences and educational backgrounds
    • Ability to connect real-life work scenarios to the teaching environment
    • Ability to help students apply professional skills to their delivery and participation in the classroom
    • Experience with student assessment; and a talent to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information
    • Exceptional capacity to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to continuous changes in curriculum to stay current in the industry
    • Current A+ certification (Current Edition 1001-1002 Series)
    • Advanced knowledge of Windows, Apple, and Linux Operating Systems; this includes both end-user and server versions
    • Thorough understanding of security concepts, models, and standards; experience with implementation in business environments
    • Experience with Active Directory, GPO’s, user-profile management (window systems engineer)

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
    • 3 years + IT work experience
    • Google IT Support Professional Certificate encouraged but not required
    • Network+ Certification (Current edition N10-007) encouraged but not required
    • Security + Certification encouraged but not required
    • CYSA+ Certification (Current edition N10-007) encouraged but not required
    • Experience teaching technical courses
    • Experience in workforce development
    • Linux production experience
    • Additional Industry certifications are a plus
