Overview
Project Performer is a performing arts studio in Encinitas, CA, dedicated to providing high-quality training in acting, singing, and dance. We focus on developing strong technique while fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities
As a Dance Instructor, you will play a key role in developing students’ technique, artistry, and confidence across various styles of dance. Success in this role is measured by monthly student retention in your classes and quarterly teacher check-ins.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing structured lesson plans for ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, or musical theatre dance
Teaching engaging and technically sound dance classes for students ranging from beginning levels (ages 5+) to advanced teens
Choreographing recital and/or competition pieces that showcase student progress and skill
Providing constructive feedback to help students grow in technique, artistry, and performance quality
Creating a positive and encouraging classroom environment that fosters discipline and confidence
Attending monthly Zoom staff meetings to collaborate with the team
Communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements
We are looking for instructors who align with our studio’s values and meet the following qualifications:
Strong technique and choreography abilities in one or more of the following styles: ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, or musical theatre dance
Previous teaching experience required
Ability to teach a range of levels, from beginning (ages 5+) to advanced teens
Passion for dance and a strong interest in mentoring young performers
Experience in competition choreography is a plus
Ability to create engaging lesson plans that develop students’ skills and artistry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents
Professionalism in punctuality, preparedness, and classroom management
Knowledge of injury prevention and safe dance practices
