Responsibilities: • Analyze large datasets of purchase transactions to identify overpaid sales tax. • Reconcile tax amounts using tax rates, exemptions, and jurisdictional rules. • Work closely with tax consultants to prepare refund claims and supporting documentation. • Utilize SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools to extract and manipulate data. • Identify trends and patterns in sales tax overpayments. • Assist in automating processes to improve data extraction and analysis efficiency. • Communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and clients. Qualifications: • Availability: This is an in-office, onsite 5x per week position. • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field. • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, tax compliance, or financial analytics. • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and data visualization tools (Tableau). • Experience with SQL, Python, or other data query languages is a plus. • Knowledge of sales tax regulations and exemptions is preferred but not required. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
