    Job Overview
    We are seeking a visionary and experienced Data Architect for a critical contract project focused on the infrastructure and security aspects of our business data. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in a key data initiative, working alongside our business-focused data team.

    This project requires a strong understanding of data infrastructure and security, with proven expertise in data classification projects, data organization, and data cleanup. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in on-premise Microsoft SQL Server and possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL. Experience with other database technologies is also highly valued. We are also open to candidates with a strong cybersecurity background who have demonstrable experience in data classification projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead Infrastructure & Security Architecture for Business Data Project: Design and implement secure data infrastructure solutions within Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL to support the specific needs of the business data project.
    • Architect & Implement Data Classification (Infrastructure & Security): Define and implement data classification standards and technical controls within database environments, aligning with security policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Design Secure Data Organization: Develop and implement data organization strategies within Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL that prioritize security, performance, and usability for the business data project.
    • Architect Secure Data Cleanup Processes: Design and oversee data cleanup initiatives within database environments, ensuring adherence to security and compliance requirements.
    • Implement Database Security Best Practices: Apply security hardening measures and best practices within Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.
    • Collaborate on Security & Infrastructure: Work closely with the business data team, cybersecurity professionals, and IT infrastructure teams on the infrastructure and security aspects of the data project.
    • Ensure Alignment with Office 365 E5 Security Features: Understand and leverage the security and compliance features of Office 365 E5 to inform data protection strategies within the database environment.
    • Document Infrastructure & Security Architecture: Create clear documentation of the data architecture, security configurations, and data classification schemes relevant to the specific data project.
