  • Responsibilities

    Global investment management firm is searching for a Data Management Associate to join its operations department. The Associate is responsible for accurate, timely and complete set up of security attributes, issuer attributes and other data sets that support the investment, accounting and compliance processes.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for data governance and data quality, data-related processes and systems, and will demonstrate extensive experience working with similar financial services firms. This includes supporting the successful transformation of data governance, data quality, reporting and self-service capabilities.

    Hybrid Remote: 3 days/wk on-site

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for accurate setup of Security Master File (SMF) in trading and accounting systems

    • Helps maintain proprietary SMF “golden source” database and exception processing rules

    • Monitors end of day processing in ISGs systems, ensuring the day’s SMF activity flows to downstream systems

    • Reconciles SMF files across key systems

    • Maintains issuer lists for compliance testing and ensures accuracy

    • Troubleshoots data submission errors and data error issues

    • Provide support for the SOC-1 (SSAE18) and SOX audit activities

    • Performs and documents procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization and analysis

    • Escalates issues in a timely manner to the Management Team

    • Perform special projects as needed

    • Assists with ad hoc requests and provides coverage for functional responsibilities, as needed

    • Works closely with other areas within Investment Operations

    Qualifications & Experience

    • 3 years + experience in a Data Management, BA, or IT role supporting a fixed income asset manager

    • Experience with Fixed Income, Structured Products and Alternative Investments

    • Experience using common industry solutions such as State Street’s PAM for Investments, Bloomberg, Markit EDM, Markit think Folio

    • Understanding of asset management for insurance companies is a plus

    • Understanding of SQL, database systems, and ETL tools

    • Strong knowledge of finance (P&L/NAV/etc.)

    • Strong work ethic shows initiative and deep desire to learn and strengthen individual skill set

    • Ability to effectively prioritize workload

    • Someone who encourages continuous improvement

    • Must be detail oriented, organized, and can work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
