Data Modeler
The Data Modeler is responsible for designing and implementing data modeling solutions across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases , ensuring optimal data organization, interoperability, and performance. Working closely with data architects and technical teams , this role supports the development of efficient and scalable data structures that enhance query performance and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Modeling & Design
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored to business and technical requirements.
- Design and optimize databases and data warehouses for improved interoperability and query performance.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and working groups to define data specifications and ensure models align with business needs.
- Evaluate and refine existing data structures to identify inefficiencies, reduce duplication, and enhance validation.
Data System Evaluation & Optimization
- Construct as-is data models where documentation is lacking and assess foundational data model issues.
- Conduct query performance analysis and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with project teams to define risks, trade-offs, and implementation strategies for new or rebuilt systems.
Governance & Best Practices
- Define and establish data modeling standards, tools, and best practices to support enterprise-wide consistency.
- Provide recommendations on data architecture, infrastructure, and integration strategies.
- Ensure data models align with governance policies and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data modeling.
Education
- Bachelor's or advanced degree ( Master's or PhD ) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Power Designer, DAX Studio, ERWin, ER/Studio ).
- Strong SQL skills for data structuring, querying, and optimization.
- Experience working with relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
