  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Serve as a business partner to internal and external stakeholders, for data-analytic deliverables (including R&D) that are not automated or routine in nature, and require programming and data analysis expertise.
    • Develops data assets for analytic deliverables, including basic data analysis, advanced statistical analyses (e.g. regression-type models and data mining methods), reporting, and visualization (e.g. reports, dashboards, info-graphics).
    • Perform analytic work, including executing analyses, producing reports and other analytic deliverables.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Under direction of a technical lead, in collaboration with other business partners serving the analytic client, execute on deliverables requirements.
    • Independently produce analysis (e.g. basic data analysis, statistical test, statistical modeling) or analytics (e.g. a dashboard), with appropriate technologies (e.g. Excel, Tableau, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI)
    • Independently write programs in appropriate language (e.g. R, SQL, SPSS, SAS), to develop data (sets) needed to support deliverables.
    • Produce written reports, for internal constituents, which summarize analytic deliverable; including methods, interpretations, and business implications
    • Support ad-hoc analytic advisory support to internal clients (e.g. sales, account management, advisory services, product management, and consulting), including answering data and methodology questions, interpretation of results and
    • Stay abreast of contemporary analytics, such as big data technologies (e.g. cloud services, Hadoop, OLAP tools), analytic technologies (e.g. R, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), and statistical (including data-mining) methods.
    • Stay abreast of healthcare industry issues affecting PG clients (e.g. VBP, HCAHPS, “Population Health”).
    • Independently, and in collaboration with business partners (e.g. Strategy, Development, Product Management, and CRA) prototype scalable, novel analytic solutions that address important business questions.
    • Independently, develop and prototype novel data sets that integrate existing PG or external data, for the purpose of developing novel analytic solutions.
    • Ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables
    • Exhibit interpersonal skills that foster collaborative working relationships.
    • Document work.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications include:

    • Bachelors or higher in Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline
    • 1-3 years experience in a data-analytic intensive role
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with SQL, SAS, R, STATA or other high level data programming language
    • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Python, PHP, Perl, VB, JavaScript, C++ or other programming language
    • Formal training or extensive applied experience with advanced statistical methods such as regression-type modeling, data-mining methods (e.g. classification trees)
    • Proficiency with data visualization
    • 1-3 years developing data that merges relational tables, either within a relational database or related “big data” environments (e.g. SQL Server, Hadoop)
    • 1-3 years of real world data and statistical analysis experience
    • 1-3 years project management experience, including demonstrated success with cross-functional collaboration
    • 1-3 years implementing novel analytics with minimal supervision

    The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
