Data Scientist

Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). This role requires expertise in processing and analyzing large datasets, as well as developing analytic processes and automated workflows, scripting solutions, and data modeling. The ideal candidate will apply their technical skills and customer-centric approach to solve complex intelligence challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to streamline processes and address intelligence challenges.
- Lead and refine analytic solutions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate road map features into components/tasks, estimate timelines, assess risks, and suggest solutions.
- Apply exploratory data analysis techniques to identify patterns and trends in complex data.
- Utilize data science techniques, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and modeling, to generate actionable insights.
- Develop and optimize automated workflows for data processing and analysis.
- Conduct peer reviews to improve methodologies and ensure quality.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/CI poly
- Experience: relevant experience in data science, analytics, or related fields with experience supporting geospatial IC operations (combination of experience and certifications can substitute for a degree).
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in manipulating and analyzing structured/unstructured data.
- Experience with data mining, database management, and analytics development.
- Expertise in government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) data processing/analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, MapLarge, MatLab).
- Proficiency in advanced programming languages and frameworks (Python, HTML 5/Javascript, C++, SQL, ArcGIS, Model Builder, Oracle, ESRI dashboard).
- Knowledge of advanced analytic methodologies and their practical applications.
- Experienced in conducting multi-INT and technology specific research to support mission operations
- Experience in building and maintaining databases of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), or open-source intelligence (OSINT) data.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Ability to direct technical teams and solve complex intelligence problems.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex data insights effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Data Science or a related technical field.
- Experience developing and working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models.
- Experience using NET, Python, C++, and/or JAVA programming for web interface development and geodatabase development.
- Data visualization expertise, including network and matrix analytics that assist the analytical workforce in generating common operational pictures, to support intelligence analysis.
