Shapiro Criminal Defense Attorneys is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Remote Data Entry Specialist to support our legal team by accurately entering, updating, and maintaining client and case-related data in our secure systems. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and the ability to handle sensitive legal information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately input and update client information, case details, court documents, and legal correspondence into the firm’s case management system (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar).
Verify data integrity by cross-referencing source documents and correcting any discrepancies.
Organize and maintain digital files in compliance with firm policies and legal confidentiality requirements.
Assist with data cleanup, migration, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Retrieve and compile case-related data as requested by attorneys, paralegals, or administrative staff.
Handle confidential client information with discretion, adhering to attorney-client privilege and data protection laws.
Perform routine audits to identify missing or outdated information and update records accordingly.
Follow firm protocols for document retention, electronic filing, and secure data handling.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in office administration or legal studies is a plus).
1+ years of data entry experience, preferably in a legal, medical, or professional services environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), legal case management software, and Adobe Acrobat.
Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 45+ WPM) with exceptional attention to detail.
Familiarity with legal terminology and criminal defense processes (preferred but not required).
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity.
Work Environment & Requirements:
100% Remote – Must be available during core business hours.
Secure, private workspace to maintain client confidentiality.
Occasional virtual meetings with team members via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
