CereCore is seeking a Database Administrator to join our client onsite in Titusville, FL.
The Database Administrator is responsible for demonstrating our client’s Culture of Choice®, managing and maintaining the organization’s databases and database engines. The Database Administrator ensures databases are secure, reliable, and efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the achievement of meeting company goals and initiatives, profitability, and productivity requirements.
- Provide assistance to other colleagues and other IT team members in the design, development and testing of reports, reporting solutions and data warehousing and management and maintenance of the system.
- Planning and executing database upgrades, applying patches and fixes, and performing regular maintenance tasks to keep the database systems up-to-date and running smoothly.
- Implementing security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing queries and indexes to improve system efficiency.
- Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of data in case of system failures or disasters.
- Assisting users in accessing and retrieving data from databases, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to Service Desk team.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database related activities with broader IT initiatives.
- Foster a customer-centric culture within the service desk team, promoting excellent customer service and effective communication.
- Implement security measures to maintain database integrity and protect important data from cyberattack.
- Conduct automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, and cost comparison analysis.
- Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or a related field is required (A combination of experience and certifications may be considered)
- Supervision is present on an “as needed” basis to establish general objectives and to identify potential resources for assistance. Independent judgment is required to select and apply the most appropriate procedures to achieve desired results.
- Problems are not standard/routine, but are often similar to those seen before. Solutions can often be found by using methods chosen before in similar situations. Some judgment is required to interpret problems and select appropriate solutions based upon similar situations that have occurred in the past.
- One to Three Months: Plan events that are expected to occur in the next one to three months or on a quarterly basis
- Requires regular contact within the department and ongoing contact with other departments, supplying, or gathering factual information
- Requires occasional contact with outside agencies, other medical centers, patients, or visitors, supplying or gathering factual information
- Skill levels require the employee to apply knowledge to practical issues and allows for development of new methods and procedures. Requires knowledge of theories and practices of a recognized professional field (e.g., nursing, finance, quality assurance, infection control, information support). This level of knowledge may be reserved for a position that requires a number of years on the job experience (e.g., entry level management). Frequently applies knowledge to practical issues and problems.
- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer (MSSQL) is required within 1 year. Must complete MySQL Server 8.0 or higher or Oracle SQL training within 1 year.
- Understanding of on-premises and cloud database systems, best practices for data encryption, backup, restoration, retention/destruction, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity best practices. Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple projects, ability to handle large customer needs/request volumes, familiarity with current generation Windows/Apple OS/devices, Microsoft 365 suite, experience with support desk platforms and project tracking tools.
- Working Conditions/ Physical Effort: Must be able to lift equipment such as computers and printers weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods. Healthcare environment with vaccination requirements.
